Dear Residents, As your newly elected First Selectman, I would like to thank you for the trust you have put in me and my fellow Selectmen. We are honored to serve and are prepared to lead Somers forward in these challenging times.
Whether you are a resident or visitor, I urge you to take the time to discover, or re-discover, all the things that make Somers a special community: our rural character, our commitment to educational excellence, our outstanding recreational resources, our senior programs and most of all our tradition of caring about our neighbors.
In 2007, Money Magazine named Somers, Connecticut 53rd on its list of "100 Best Places to Live" in the United States of America.
As typical of old New England Towns, Somers is made up of several small villages. Diverse neighborhoods that maintain their individual character while providing support to the community as a whole. Volunteerism is widespread in Somers, and civic organizations provide some of our most successful annual events.
Our office is always open to serve your needs. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, problems or concerns about services, activities or government in general or if you would like to serve as a volunteer on one of our many boards and commissions. I can be reached by e-mail selectman@somersct.gov or by telephone at 860-763-8200.
I look forward to working with you to preserve Somers rural charm while improving services to our residents and maintaining our status as one of the best places to live in the USA.
Sincerely,
Lisa Pellegrini
First Selectman
