Town Field Facilities

The Field Road Park facility consists of 3 softball fields, 2 baseball fields, 2 all purpose fields, lighted tennis courts and a lighted basketball court. There are 2 additional baseball fields located behind Town Hall, Softball fields and soccer fields on Sokol Road and all purpose fields located at the Firehouse facility and behind the Grammar School in Somersville. 

All town fields are available for use by residents. If you would like to reserve the use of a field for an event, please contact the Recreation Office @ 860.749.7160. Scheduling preference will be given to in town sports associations.

For a copy of any schedule for Somers sports, please contact the Recreation Department or that sports' respective representative. Sports Association contact information can be found on the link from the Recreation Department main page.

The Pavilion At Field Road Park & Connor's Place Boundless Playground
You may reserve the use of the pavilion at Field Road Park for your next family event or party. There is no fee to reserve the facility if you are a Somers resident. Out of town applicants must submit a $25 usage fee along with their permit application to the Recreation Department. Please contact the Recreation Office with your tentative scheduled date by  phone or email prior to to submitting your permit. If your requested date is open, you may submit your permit; an approved, signed permit will be returned to you prior to the date of your event.  Please abide by the rules and regulations listed on the permit.

Some things to remember when applying for a Pavilion Permit and using the facility:

  • Please bring your signed permit with you on the date of your event.       

  • Please try to limit your event to 3 hours or less.

  • The Connor's Place Playground is open to everyone;  you cannot reserve the playground for your event.

  • The bathrooms are located below the pavilion in the gazebo facility.

  • The grill is for your use; please make sure your charcoal fire is throughly extinguished upon your departure.

  • Please be courteous and pick up after your event and remove rubbish. The park is not staffed after 3:30pm on weekdays or on the weekends.                 

  • There is NO Alcohol allowed at the pavilion or at any Town Park.
