Social and Senior Services provides helpful information, access to services, assistance, and help with applications for public benefits, helping individuals, seniors, and families stretch their household budgets to meet their basic needs, obtain health and other community services, access critical community benefits, and learn how to navigate complex systems.

Advisory Committee for Seniors
Responsible for addressing senior issues, and providing input and suggestions on programming, budgets, and new approaches, the Advisory Committee of Seniors is comprised of nine members who are appointed by the Board of Selectmen annually. The Municipal Agent for the Elderly is a member and chairperson of this group. Other members include a representative from the Senior Club, public housing sites, the senior drop-in center, and others from across the Somers community.
