We will be limiting access to Town Hall except by appointment for those essential services that require face to face contact.  A lot of Town business can be done from a distance; we have drop boxes in front of Town Hall, as well as mail-in and on-line options. If business can be handled without an in-person visit to Town Hall buildings, we recommend that these alternative be utilized. We recognize that people need to plan ahead but safety is our primary concern.  for Staff Directory click here Staffing Directory   COVID-19 Numbers as of 1/7/2021 as it relates to the Town of Somers: Total number of residential cases 335, number of new cases 40. June is Dog Licensing

June, being Dog Licensing month in Connecticut, is quickly approaching and you want to make sure your family pet is up-to-date on vaccinations, especially Rabies.  Now would be a good time to check that your ‘fur friends’ are current with their Vaccination.  Rabies is not going away so you want to insure your pets are protected!  By doing so, Dog Licensing during June will run more smoothly especially since we are not sure what our Town Hall opening status will be in a month.  A vaccination for Rabies is usually good for three (3) years after an initial one (1) year shot.  If you are unsure of the Rabies Vaccination Expiration date on file, please contact your vet or Town Clerk’s Office (if you have licensed previously) via email:  alogan@somersct.gov

Currently, the licensing of dogs will be by mail or our DropBox in front of the Town Hall entry.  Please make checks payable to the Town of Somers with the appropriate fees:  $8.00 for spayed or neutered or $19.00 for males and females.

We will be hosting a ‘Drive-Thru Rabies Vaccination Only’ clinic, no residency required, on June 06, 2020.  Details to be posted next week.
