Storm Isaias

Good morning,
Storm Isaias has gone. We had a bit of rain with significant wind damage. Eversource is reporting nearly 45% of its customers without power.
In Somers, we have approximately 40% of customers without power. Those numbers are expected to increase as Eversource’s reporting system comes back online.
There are many closed roads with trees on or in wires. Please remember to stay away from downed powerlines or any tree that is in or on powerlines.

The Somers Fire, Police and DPW responded to many calls throughout the event.
The Department of Public Works will be working to remove debris on roads and town property. Please remember if a tree is on or in powerlines, it must be cleared by Eversource before we can open the road or finish the cleanup.

To report power outages, call Eversource at (860)286-2000
To report blocked roads please call the DPW at (860)763-8234
For all emergencies please call 911.

If you have neighbors or family you are concerned about, please reach out to them and ensure they are ok.

This may be a long duration cleanup and restoration; please be patient. We’ll come through this well if we work together.
Thank you,
