The Somers CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team), working with the Fire Department, is offering ‘free’ address markers which are visible day or night, reflective and fade resistant.  Emergency Personnel need to find your home and ‘if they can’t find you, they can’t help you’.  Information and application available from the following link:

Brownfields Clean-up Grant for Somersville Mill Property

The Town of Somers has received a $200,000 U.S. EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant through the Capitol Regions Council of Governments to conduct additional remediation at the former Somersville Mill property located at 40 Maple Street in Somers.  Details of previous site investigations are summarized in an Analysis Report which can be viewed in the Town Clerks office.

A community meeting to discuss the project and solicit comments on the Analysis of Brownfields Clean-Up Report will be held on May 13, 2021 as part of the Planning Commission meeting starting at 7:00 PM at the Somers Town Hall.
