Among the statutory responsibilities of the Zoning Commission are to enact and administer the Town’s Zoning Regulations which have been established to preserve the quality of life in Somers, and to protect the Town’s rural character while acknowledging that the Town continues to develop as a highly attractive community in which to work and live. The Zoning Commission reviews and approves all applications for Special Use Permits, Site Plans, and Zoning Regulation and Map amendments.
The Zoning Commission holds Regular meetings on the first Monday each month, 6:30p.m. except for the month of August. The Town of Somers Liaison to the Zoning Commission is Jennifer Roy, CZEO, Zoning Enforcement Officer. Ms. Roy may be contacted by telephone at 860.763.8220 or by email jroy@somersct.gov
