The Public Hearing is April 23 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Auditorium. Residents are invited to come learn more about the budget before making their decision at the referendum.

SES HVAC & Electrical Improvements Project RFP
The Town of Somers, CT, on behalf of Somers Public Schools (SPS), is seeking proposals from
qualified firms for professional services to serve in a Program Management Oversight (PMO)
capacity for the upgrades to the HVAC systems upgrade at Somers Elementary School. The
work shall be performed in cooperation with SPS and town staff, the towns selected design
consultant (Consulting Engineering Services, Inc.), and Construction Manager (not selected
yet). The bid documents can be found here.
Cemetery Concerns
The Cemetery Committee has worked diligently to create a form for feedback between the users of the Cemeteries and the Committee. This Cemetery Concern Form allows for just that. Do you have questions about one or all cemeteries in Town; submit a form. Do you have a concern about one or all cemeteries in Town; submit a form? Negative and positive concerns can be submitted. The Cemetery Committee looks forward to hearing all of your thoughts.

The Fiscal Year 2023-24 Budget Book is here!! This book is full of charts and data to better assist you in understanding this year’s budget. Click here to view the book. Bound hard copies will be available in the Town Clerk’s Office beginning Monday, April 17, 2023.
Cemetery Spring Cleanup
The Somers Cemetery Committee will begin spring cleanup on April 24, 2023.
All plot owners must remove all ornamentation before that date.
After April 24, any non-conforming items will be removed and placed in the rear disposal area at Center Cemetery to be removed at a later date.
This cleanup is anticipated to last no longer than May 5, weather permitting.

REMINDER – The last day to pay Town taxes without getting a penalty is Monday August 1st
If you wish to mail your payment, we do accept postmark date as payment date.
If you would like to leave your envelope over the weekend, there is a drop box in the front of Town Hall. Please feel free to write your email on the envelope if you would like a receipt.
We also accept payments on line. Please note there is a 95 cent fee for an electronic check and a 2.95% fee for credit/debit cards. This is not a town fee, but a direct merchant fee for the payment processing company.
You can pay in town hall with a credit card without a fee. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, ApplePay, and PayPal. We do not accept American Express.
If you plan on paying in person, you should allow yourself extra time for there will probably be a short line since it is the last week to pay.
If you no longer have a vehicle or have questions on your bill, please talk to the Assessor’s office before standing in line to pay your bill for you may be entitled to an adjustment. You can also email Karen your question at kneal@somersct.gov .
If you did not receive a bill for a vehicle you owned as of October 1, 2021 please contact either the Assessor’s or Tax office to make sure you are not driving an unregistered vehicle. We are finding that many people did not know their registration has expired.
