INVITATION TO BID – Northwest Drive Reconstruction

The Town of Somers is currently seeking bids for the Northwest Drive Reconstruction project.

Specifications and bidding documents may be obtained from the Land Use Department at the Somers Town Hall, 600 Main Street, Somers, Connecticut, 06071.  The cost for the bid package is $50.00, non-refundable.  Checks should be made out to the Town of Somers.

The Town reserves the right to waive any part of or the entire bid when said action is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town.  One original and one copy of all bid documents must be submitted to Michael Marinaccio, Chief Financial Officer, Town of Somers, 600 Main Street, Somers, CT, 06071 no later than 11:00 A.M., August 15, 2018, when all bids will be publicly opened and read.

Bidder should be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.  Minority/Women Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply.


Somers Public Works Department announces 2018 Road Resurfacing Projects

The following roads are scheduled for resurfacing this summer;
Randall Road, Lance Drive, Quality Avenue, Bridle Path Drive, Valley View Road and the cul-de-sac on Blue Ridge Drive. There will be preparation work conducted for the next several weeks and weather permitting, resurfacing is schedule to be performed the week of August 20th.

Transfer Station Stickers

Annual dump stickers are on sale currently for July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 for $35. However, if you currently have a blue sticker (September 2017 – August 2018), a new sticker does not have to be purchased and will be honored through the end of August. At that time, you will have to purchase a $35 sticker that will be good until June 30, 2019. Building permit fee increase effective July 1

Effective July 1, 2018 the Building permit fees will increase as follows:

$30.00 for the first $1,000 in job cost

$15.00 for each additional $1,000 or portion thereof
