A week from Saturday, on April 22, will be Somers’ next Drug Take Back Day. This a great opportunity for the community to safely dispose of prescription medications, OTC meds, and other medical items. Please stop by and drop off items or stop to say hello to our friends from Troop C of the State Police, the Somers Fire Department, and volunteers.
Below is a link to a flyer that has additional information. Please share this opportunity amongst your own groups. This is a free event and the first 35 to attend will receive a “swag bag” filled with goodies (like a cool Somers Comes Together logo beverage bottle, free lock-up bag for drugs at home, etc.).

The Somers Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall Auditorium, 600 Main Street to receive public comments on the following:

The Fiscal Year 2023-24 Budget Book is here!! This book is full of charts and data to better assist you in understanding this year’s budget. Click here to view the book. Bound hard copies will be available in the Town Clerk’s Office beginning Monday, April 17, 2023.
The Somers Cemetery Committee will begin spring cleanup on April 24, 2023.
All plot owners must remove all ornamentation before that date.
After April 24, any non-conforming items will be removed and placed in the rear disposal area at Center Cemetery to be removed at a later date.
This cleanup is anticipated to last no longer than May 5, weather permitting.

The Town of Somers Board of Finance will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 7:00 pm at the Somers Town Hall Auditorium. The 2023-24 proposed Annual Budget will be considered at that time. Interested individuals are requested to attend.

The Town of Somers has prepared a draft Annual Report for the calendar year 2022 per the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems effective July 1, 2017. The Annual Report will be available for public review at the following address on the Town’s website https://www.somersct.gov/town-departments/public-works-department/stormwater/ and in the Public Works Department at 93 Egypt Road, Somers, CT, during regular business hours starting February 15, 2023.
