The Sidewalk Ad Hoc Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Selectmen charged with:
- Making recommendations for improvement of the existing sidewalk network,
- Ensure the existing sidewalks meet today’s ADA requirements,
- Making recommendations for the expansion of the sidewalk network, if warranted.
The Committee is to consider the following:
- Should the Town expand the sidewalks on Main Street,
- Should the Town construct sidewalks on the east side of South Road (Rt. 83) from Main Street down to Geisler’s,
- Should the Town construct sidewalks on the west side of South Road (Rt. 83) from Main Street to Field Road,
- Should the Town construct sidewalks on Field Road from South Road down to Field Road Park,
- Should the Town improve and extend sidewalks on Springfield Road (Rt. 83) north to Michelle Drive,
- Should the Town improve sidewalks on Maple Street and connect them in front of the Blacksmith shop,
- Should the Town pursue installing crosswalks at Main Street on Maple and School Streets,
- Should the Town install other crosswalks,
- Should the Town construct sidewalks on the west side of Maple Street from the bridge to Pinney Street,
- Should the Town construct sidewalks on the west side of Pinney Street to connect to the sidewalks on Billings Road,
- Are there other concerns or requests to consider?
