Seasonal GIS Technician Intern

Public Works Department

JOB TITLE:  Seasonal GIS Technician Intern

REPORTS TO: Director of Public Works and/or Director of Land Use

JOB: The GIS Technician is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Town of Somers GIS data layers including but not limited to the town wide Storm Drainage and Sanitary Sewer Network.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs edits on new and existing water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage GIS layers utilizing as-built plans, field reconnaissance and on line resources.

PAY RATE:  $12.00 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Driver’s License


• Ability to Operate ArcMap / Arc Collector


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office


• Ability to work on own with direction from Town Staff members


• Strong Problem Solving, Technical and Analytical Skills
