Important Reminders for the April 2, 2024 Presidential Preference Primary (PPP)
The Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) is the Primary where voters who are registered/affiliated with a political party are able to vote for a candidate from their party for the U.S. Presidency. Connecticut is holding its PPP on Tuesday, Apr. 2. Here are some important reminders and deadlines to keep in mind for voting in this Primary.
January 2 – Was last day that residents who were already registered with one political party could transfer from one party to another and be eligible to vote in the PPP of the new party.
March 12 – Absentee ballots for the PPP become available.
March 15 – Last day that new and unaffiliated voters can go online and enroll in a party in order to vote in the PPP.
March 15 – Last day that new and unaffiliated voters can mail in a request to establish their party affiliation in order to vote in the PPP. For new voters, mail-in applications must be postmarked or received by the Registrar of Voters by this date. For unaffiliated voters, the mail-in application must be received (not merely postmarked) by the Registrar of Voters by this date.
March 26 – Early voting for the PPP is available from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Somers Town Hall.
March 27 – Early voting for the PPP is available from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Somers Town Hall.
March 28 – Early voting for the PPP is available from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Somers Town Hall.
March 30 – Early voting for the PPP is available from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Somers Town Hall.
April 1 – Last day that new and unaffiliated voters can stop by in person at the Somers Town Hall to enroll in a party in order to vote in the PPP.
April 2 – Polls are open for the PPP from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Somers Town Hall Auditorium.
